Building Insulation

Thermal envelope installation for metal buildings and structures.

Thermal Envelope Integrity

Proper insulation transforms a metal shell into a workable environment. The installation of the insulation package is just as critical as the framing itself—gaps, compressed areas, and compromised vapor barriers defeat the purpose of the system.

Insulation Methods

We are experienced in installing various insulation systems concurrently with the building exterior:

  • Over-the-Purlin Fiberglass: Traditional faced fiberglass rolled over the framing before sheeting.
  • Banded Systems: High R-value systems using steel banding to support thicker insulation blankets without compression.
  • Rigid Board Systems: Polyiso or foam board installations for specific thermal requirements.

A tight vapor barrier is crucial. We meticulously tape seams and seal edges to prevent condensation issues within the wall and roof cavities.

Coordinate the Insulation Package Early

The insulation type, thickness, facing, liner conditions, banding, thermal blocks, panel sequence, and responsibility for penetrations should be established before erection begins. MCMW installs the specified package; energy-code design, engineering, and remediation of wet or damaged materials remain outside the erection scope unless contracted.

Insulation work is considered with metal-building projects across Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. Request an insulation and dry-in scope review →
